BRIDGE OVER ASSINIBOINE RIVER ON PERIMETER HIGHWAY (PTH 100 ) TO BE REOPENED TO FULL FOUR LANES OF TRAFFIC DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS
– – – Lane Reductions for Ongoing Repairs will be at Night Only
Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation advises the Assiniboine River bridge on the west Perimeter Highway (just south of Portage Avenue) will be reopened to a full four lanes of traffic by late afternoon tomorrow while further repairs occur during off-peak hours.
The structure has been restricted to one lane of traffic in each direction as part of a major rehabilitation. However, the remaining work can be completed at night, meaning four lanes of traffic (two lanes in each direction) will be open during the day. The repairs should be completed by the end of September.
While work is done at night, one lane of traffic in each direction will be closed starting at 8 p.m. The bridge will be reopened to four lanes of traffic at 6 a.m. the next day.
The temporary lane closures will allow crews to make needed repairs while minimizing disruptions for motorists.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and use caution approaching and in any construction zone for their own safety and that of workers.
