Premier Greg Selinger joined senior representatives from CN today to break ground on a 100,000-square-foot national training facility in Winnipeg that will host 250 to 300 employees a week from across Canada.
“CN has a proud history in Transcona dating back a century,” said Selinger. “Their investments in our community over the past 100 years have helped establish Winnipeg and Manitoba as a North American centre of transportation and logistics. Congratulations to CN on this innovative new training facility that will create even more opportunities for Manitoba families in the century ahead.”
Transcona has been home to CN’s main Canadian heavy repair shops since 1912.
