MOTORISTS ADVISED OF REPAIRS ON FIRST STREET NORTH IN BRANDON (PTH 1A)

– – –
Road To Be Closed Saturday, Most of Sunday With Detours in Place

Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation advises that needed repairs to First Street North in Brandon (PTH 1A) at Kirkham Crescent will result in the roadway being closed in both directions beginning tomorrow at 8 a.m. until Sunday at approximately 7 p.m.

For the safety of workers on the project, First Street North in Brandon will be closed to all traffic from PR 457 (Kirkcaldy Drive) to Braecrest Drive during these repairs. This temporary closure will allow crews to make needed repairs while minimizing disruptions for motorists.

The work includes installation of a new concrete culvert and then resurfacing of the roadway. Detours will see southbound truck traffic use 18th Street North (PTH 10) and northbound truck traffic will use Kirkcaldy Drive. All other vehicles will have access to 18th Street North, Kirkcaldy Drive, Braecrest Drive and all residential streets.

Motorists are reminded to use extra caution when approaching or travelling through any construction zone and while passing workers and equipment.

The latest information on road repairs and lane closures is available at www.manitoba.ca or 1‑877‑MBROADS (1-877-627-6237).
