Province Advises Flows Increased Along Assiniboine River From Portage La Prairie To Winnipeg

The Hydrologic Forecast Centre of Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation reports flow on the Assiniboine River from Portage la Prairie to Winnipeg has been increased by 2,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) to approximately 12,000 cfs.

Flows on the Portage Diversion into Lake Manitoba have been reduced to 1,500 cfs.  Flows into the Portage Reservoir will continue to be closely monitored to determine if further adjustments to the operation of the Portage Diversion are required.

Flows along the Fairford River Water Control Structure are being increased over the next two days and are expected to be at maximum discharge between 10,500 and 11,000 cfs sometime Wednesday.  Ice conditions allow for an increase downstream of the Fairford River, Lake St. Martin and the Dauphin River.
