Manitoba Emergency Measures Organization Deploys Mobile Office to Killarney

Manitoba Emergency Measures Organization (EMO) will set up a mobile office in the town of Killarney on today and tomorrow to accept disaster financial assistance (DFA) applications, answer questions and provide advice on cleanup.

The office will be set up in front of the Civic Offices on Main Street in Killarney. The office will be open from 2 to 6 p.m. June 23 and 9 a.m. to noon on June 24.

Manitoba EMO recommends that property owners take pictures of damages, save receipts for repairs to their property, keep an inventory of anything they throw out or dispose of and contact their insurance company.

Because the Killarney area experienced significant overland flooding of private property, the province has dispatched EMO staff to directly assist people in the area.

Further information on the DFA program and helpful information on how to clean up after a flood is available at www.manitobaemo.ca or by calling toll-free 1-888-267-8298.
