Governments of Canada, Manitoba and the Towns of Teulon and Arborg Deliver New BizPaL Services

Online Business Permit and Licence Service Saves Time, Cuts Paperwork and Helps Entrepreneurs

Arborg, Manitoba, March 4, 2011—Starting and running a business in the towns of Teulon and Arborg just became easier thanks to BizPaL, an online business permit and licence service that saves time spent on paperwork and helps entrepreneurs start up faster.

Today, James Bezan, Member of Parliament for Selkirk–Interlake, on behalf of the Honourable Rob Moore, Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism), together with the Honourable Peter Bjornson, Minister of Entrepreneurship, Training and Trade for the Province of Manitoba, Bert Campbell, Mayor of the Town of Teulon, and Randy Sigurdson, Mayor of the Town of Arborg, welcomed the launch of BizPaL in these communities.

“Our government is demonstrating a strong commitment to small and medium-sized businesses by improving access to financing, reducing taxes and cutting the red tape that businesses face every day,” said Mr. Bezan. “BizPaL is a great example of our government’s hard work to support Canadian businesses as they innovate, create jobs and generate wealth in our communities.”

BizPaL is an innovative service that provides entrepreneurs with simplified access to information on the permits and licences they need to establish and run their businesses. This unique partnership among federal, provincial, territorial and municipal governments is designed to cut through the paperwork burden and red tape that small business owners encounter. The BizPaL services in these communities were developed by the towns of Teulon and Arborg, the Province of Manitoba and the Government of Canada.        

“BizPaL is a powerful source of information that is available to entrepreneurs wishing to start or expand their business,” said Minister Bjornson. “BizPaL is a solid example of how our government is committed to reducing red tape and helping businesses grow and prosper in Manitoba.”       

“We are pleased to be part of the BizPaL program and are quite impressed at how all-inclusive the information is for all parties,” said Mr. Campbell. “BizPaL will be a great tool for any individual or business interested in establishing in our area, and we welcome the program wholeheartedly.”       

“The Town of Arborg welcomes the opportunity to provide this service to potential new and existing businesses in our area,” said Mr. Sigurdson. “Whether looking to relocate or start new, BizPaL is a great interactive tool providing clear, concise and complete information and will be a huge aid to business owners in Arborg.”
