Manitobans Encouraged to Visit Provincial Parks this Fall for Camping, Interpretive Programs
Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship reminds Manitobans there is fall camping available in provincial parks and opportunities for a number of interpretive programs.
Several provincial park campgrounds, group-use areas, cabins and yurts remain available throughout the fall season. Some campgrounds remain open as late as Thanksgiving. To see a list of locations open during the fall, visit www.gov.mb.ca/conservation/parks/camping/fall.html.

Interpretive programs are an excellent way better understand Manitoba parks natural and cultural history, and park land management, as well as the commitment to environmentally responsible development.
Programs are always free of charge and everyone is welcome. Park interpreters offer fall programming in Birds Hill, Spruce Woods and Whiteshell provincial parks. For details on programs offered visit www.manitobaparks.com.
The department once again welcomes the new school year by encouraging teachers and group leaders to take students to provincial parks.
School programs are free of charge and curriculum based. Skilled teams of park interpreters offer guided hikes, games, activities and other unique outdoor-learning experiences with natural and cultural resources. Interpretive programs emphasize hands-on experiences to deliver a unique, engaging experience for students or the group. Each program is specifically tailored to match what teachers are presenting in their classrooms.
Programs are available on a variety of curriculum-based subjects such as ecology, plant life, wildlife, cultural history, biodiversity, geology and more. Park interpreters also offer GPS and geocaching programs, snowshoeing and winter survival workshops.
Programs are offered year round at Birds Hill, Spruce Woods and Whiteshell provincial parks. Teachers are encouraged to book early as spaces fill up quickly.
