Manitoba Announces The Pas Byelection Set for April 21



Premier Greg Selinger today announced that a byelection will be held Tuesday, April 21 in the provincial constituency of The Pas.

The Pas constituency seat has been vacant since May 16, 2014, following the resignation of Frank Whitehead.

The necessary documents providing for the April 21 byelection were signed and issued today.

Nominations in the constituency will officially close at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 6 and advance polls will be open from April 11 to 18.  On voting day, polls will remain open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

There are currently 36 New Democrats, 19 Progressive Conservatives, one Liberal and one vacant seat in the Manitoba legislature.
