Province Issues Highway System Construction Bulletin
– – –Week of June 8 to 14
Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation advises the province will invest $27 million on two highway improvement projects that started this week, as part of the $5.5-billion, five-year core infrastructure plan.
This week’s projects include:

South Central Region

Continuing paving including passing lanes of 22.2 kilometres on PTH 16 from the
Trans-Canada Highway to PTH 50, but excluding two km west of PR 242 to 1.8 km east of
PR 242. Mulder Construction and Materials Ltd. is working on this $14-million project and it is expected to be completed by the end of fall 2015, weather permitting. - Continuing paving including passing lanes of 34 km on PTH 16 from the east junction of PTH 5 to 2.5 km west of PTH 34. This $13-million project is being undertaken by Nelson River Construction Inc. and is expected to be completed by fall 2015, weather permitting.

The annual road repair season is underway and motorists are reminded to slow down and drive safely when they see construction signs and flaggers at the roadside. Drivers are required to reduce speeds to specific limits in construction zones under the Highway Traffic Act.
