Province to Release Options on Major Changes to PTH 75 at Canada-U.S. Border Crossing During Second Emerson Open House

Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation advises it will present the preferred option for PTH 75 at the international border crossing in Emerson at a second open house meeting Thursday, Jan. 14.

Manitobans provided feedback on various options at the first open house in March of last year.  The second open house will provide an explanation of the preferred option for a major reconfiguration of the highway in the immediate vicinity of the border crossing and an opportunity to ask further questions.

The final road designs will ultimately accommodate additional inspection lines and facilities being planned on both sides of the border.  Road improvements will also allow greater traffic efficiency and safety for international travellers and goods destined for and returning from the U.S.

The open house will be held Thursday, Jan. 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Emerson Community Complex, 101 Church St., Emerson.

This project is co-funded by the governments of Manitoba and Canada under the Gateways and Border Crossings Fund.
