The Wildfire Program of Manitoba Sustainable Development advises winds have pushed the Caddy Lake Fire further east.
Predicted easterly winds tomorrow have resulted in the evacuation of McDougall’s Landing and east shore remote cabins of West Hawk Lake tonight.
There is no access to McDougall’s Landing at West Hawk Lake off PR 312 as smoke and fire forced its closure between PTH 44 and Ingolf, Ontario past the West Hawk Lake boat launch. Whiteshell Provincial Park roads remain open.
The south Whiteshell emergency plan is being activated and attempts will be made tonight to install sprinkler kits on structures.
Travelers are asked to stay away from the fire zone.
