Province Advises of Activation of Traffic Signals at PTH 59 and PR 202 - Birds Hill Access

Manitoba Infrastructure is advising motorists of changes to traffic flow related to the construction of the new interchange at PTH 59 and PTH 101, the North Perimeter Highway.

Activation of new traffic signals at PTH 59 and PR 202, the Birds Hill Access, is being planned for the evening of Tuesday, Aug. 15.  There will be a 24-hour transition period where traffic is moved onto newly constructed roadways and the signals are placed in a flashing yellow caution mode before becoming fully operational.

As the signalized intersection of PTH 59 and PR 202 becomes fully operational, the Pritchard Farm Road and McGregor Farm Road accesses to PTH 59 will be permanently closed.

The province notes the majority of the earth-moving is now complete, approximately 1.5 million cubic metres of earth, and about 75 per cent of the work on the nine bridges associated with the interchange are complete.

The interchange should be open to traffic by the fall of 2018.
