Province Celebrates Music Month in May with Performances by Students from across Manitoba



Manitoba Education and Training invites all Manitobans to come and enjoy the musical performances of students from across the province at the Manitoba Legislative Building during the month of May.

The talents of young musicians from more than 20 schools will fill the halls of the Legislative Building as students perform on the grand staircase.  Manitobans are invited to attend the following performances:

  • Monday, May 7, 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. (includes mass singing of Music Monday anthem) – Niverville Collegiate Institute, Cartwright School, Forest Park Community School, Whyte Ridge School, École Morden Middle School and École Viscount Alexander.
  • Wednesday, May 16, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – École St. Adolphe School, École Bannatyne School, Riverbend Community School, Henry G. Izatt Middle School and schools from Frontier School Division
  • Wednesday, May 23, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (French concert) – École Marie-Anne-Gaboury / École George-McDowell, École Lagimodière, Collège Jeanne-Sauvé, École / Collège regional Gabrielle-Roy, École Pointe-des-Chênes and École Saint-Joachim.
  • Wednesday, May 30, 11:30 a.m. to 12 :30 p.m. – Peguis Central School, Yellowquill School, Wayoata Elementary School, Strathmillan School and Portage Collegiate Institute.

The tradition of Music Month began in Manitoba in 2004.
