Province Issues High Wind Warning for South Basins of Lake Winnipeg and Lake Manitoba



Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation’s Hydrologic Forecasting Centre reports that forecast high winds developing over the weekend have resulted in a high wind warning for both the south basins of Lake Manitoba and Lake Winnipeg.

North winds are forecast to range up to 50 km/h starting Sunday evening and continuing until Monday.  Wind speed and significant wave action could raise levels by as much as three to five feet or more.  Lake Winnipeg and Lake Manitoba wind eliminated water levels are currently at 714.4 ft. and 811.9 ft. respectively.  These are both within operating range.

Property owners are advised to take precautions.
