– – –Safety Improvements Proceed on Busy Provincial Highway: Schuler
Two public consultation sessions will be held on Monday, May 28 and Tuesday, May 29 to discuss plans to improve safety on the South Perimeter Highway (PTH 100), Infrastructure Minister Ron Schuler announced today.
“There is an increasing volume of vehicles, over 30,000 per day, directly accessing PTH 100 at many uncontrolled locations, resulting in safety and operational problems which need to be addressed,” said Schuler.
The consultation sessions will allow the public to review the South Perimeter Highway Safety Plan and discuss topics with provincial staff related to the short-term safety-related construction projects in the safety plan, the timing of the projects and future traffic routing for motorists. The sessions are scheduled for:
- Monday, May 28 – 3 to 8 p.m. at Ambassador Room F, Canad Inns, 1824 Pembina Hwy.; and
- Tuesday, May 29 – 4 to 8 p.m. at the Oak Bluff Community Centre, 101 Macdonald Rd., Oak Bluff.
For additional viewing, general background information on the South Perimeter Highway Safety Plan will also be posted to the Manitoba Infrastructure website, both in advance and following the public information session.
