COVID-19 Vaccine Bulletin #32
Vaccine Administration
To date, 35,338 doses of vaccine have been administered including 29,404 first doses and 5,934 second doses.
As of Jan. 28, Manitoba is second in the country in the number of people who have received two doses of vaccine and are fully protected against COVID-19, at 430 people per 100,000.
Focused immunization teams (FITs) are providing the remaining immunizations at personal care homes across the province, with the last site scheduled tomorrow. As of Jan. 28, an estimated 6,903 personal care home residents had received their first dose of the vaccine.
Next week, FITs will begin immunizing other high-risk or vulnerable people in congregate living settings. This will include the Manitoba Developmental Centre, Vita and District Health Centre and Gladstone Health Centre.
The vaccine super site at the Thompson Regional Community Centre opens Feb. 1. Pop-up sites will immunize eligible health-care workers in Flin Flon and The Pas beginning the week of Feb. 8.
Appointments and Eligibility Criteria
Yesterday, Manitoba announced that some second-dose appointments may need to be rescheduled due to reduced Pfizer vaccine shipments from the federal government. The province will reach out to affected people by email or text to reschedule appointments if necessary. Plan to attend your second dose appointments as scheduled unless you are contacted. Manitoba is committed to providing second dose appointments within the recommended timeframe.
A small number of first-dose appointments remain available in Thompson. Beginning Monday, Feb. 1, eligible Manitobans may also make appointments by phone for the pop-up sites in Flin Flon and The Pas.
Since only appointments for Thompson are currently being booked, estimated wait times are under a minute. When wait times are longer, callers will have the option to be called back to book their appointment.
Eligibility criteria have been expanded to include additional designated COVID-19 wards in Thompson, The Pas and Flin Flon.
Beginning Feb. 1, individuals who have an appointment at the Winnipeg supersite at the RBC Convention Centre may also park in a surface lot on York Avenue at no cost. Parking patrol officers will be on site in the Workers Compensation Board lot, which is southeast of the main entrance, to help direct people to available stalls. Underground parking also remains available.

Vaccine Supply and Distribution
Yesterday, Manitoba received confirmation from the federal government that 12,870 fewer doses (11 trays) of the Pfizer vaccine will be shipped to the province by the end of March. This means Manitoba will receive 161,460 doses, instead of 174,330.
To date, a total of 55,650 doses of vaccine has been delivered to Manitoba. This includes:
• 40,950 doses of Pfizer vaccine, based on six doses per vial; and
• 14,700 doses of the Moderna vaccine.
Next week, Manitoba expects to receive shipments of 7,600 Moderna doses and 2,340 Pfizer doses.
Vaccine Inventory
The lowest level of super-site inventory is being updated with the most current information about Pfizer vaccine shipments. It will be provided as soon as possible.
