Public health officials advise three new deaths in people with COVID-19 are being reported today:
• a male in his 70s from the Winnipeg health region;
• a male in his 70s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the delta (B.1.617.2) variant of concern; and
• a male in his 80s from the Prairie Mountain Health region, linked to an unspecified variant of concern.

The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 2.4 per cent provincially and 1.5 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30 a.m. today, 127 new cases of the virus have been identified since Monday: 34 cases on Tuesday, Aug. 31; 57 cases on Wednesday, Sept. 1 and 36 cases today. 

Fifteen cases have been removed due to data correction bringing the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 58,793.

There were 36 new cases identified in Manitoba today. Of these, 24 are in individuals who were not fully vaccinated. This includes:
· two new cases with one not fully vaccinated, in the Interlake-Eastern health region;
· nine new cases, with eight not fully vaccinated, in the Northern health region;
· three new cases, with two not fully vaccinated, in the Prairie Mountain Health region;
· seven new cases, with four not fully vaccinated, in the Southern Health-Santé Sud health region; and
· 15 new cases, with nine not fully vaccinated, in the Winnipeg health region.

Today’s data also shows:
• 430 active cases and 57,171 individuals who have recovered from COVID-19;
• 70 Manitobans hospitalized with COVID-19 including 27 people with active COVID-19 as well as 43 people who are no longer infectious; 
• a total of 15 Manitoba patients receiving intensive care for COVID-19, including three people in intensive care units with active COVID-19 as well as 12 people who are no longer infectious but continue to require critical care;
• 2,420 laboratory tests were completed yesterday, bringing the total number of lab tests completed since early February 2020 to 929,868 and
• the total number of deaths in people with COVID-19 is 1,192.

Manitoba is winding down the operation of the COVID-19 testing site at the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport at the end of day on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021. COVID-19 testing for domestic travellers is provided in multiple locations across Manitoba, and sites can be found at: https://manitoba.ca/covid19/testing/locations.html.

Individuals are reminded that they must follow public health orders and respect the businesses that are doing their part to protect Manitobans by implementing and following those rules and policies.
