Province Announces Byelection Set For August 26 in Spruce Woods
Premier Wab Kinew announced today that a by-election for the provincial constituency of Spruce Woods will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 26.
The necessary documents for the by-election were signed and issued today. The chief electoral officer will be issuing an additional news release in the upcoming days that will indicate polling times, locations and the dates, and locations of advance polls.
There are 57 seats in the Manitoba legislature, which currently includes 34 New Democrats, 20 Progressive Conservatives, one independent Liberal, one independent member and one vacant seat.
