Manitoba Government Invests in Northern Roads
– – –$4.8 Million in Projects in The Pas and Surrounding Areas Will Help Northern Families: Naylor
The Manitoba government is investing nearly $4.8 million toward several projects in The Pas and surrounding areas, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Lisa Naylor announced today.
“I was happy to meet with northern municipal leaders in The Pas last week, and I know that families who live in and around The Pas need their highways and other infrastructure to be in good condition so they can get to work, get the kids to school and grow the economy,” said Naylor. “Our government is making record investments in infrastructure like highways and bridges, so Manitobans can get where they’re going quickly and safely.”
Construction is expected to start this year, the minister noted, and will include safety improvements to Provincial Trunk Highway (PTH) 6, as well as repairs to PTH 60 near the intersection of PTH 10. These investments build on more than $62 million in highway improvements in the region since October 2023, including repairs to PTH 10 and Provincial Road 224, the minister noted.
“Our government values northern Manitobans and their way of life,” said Naylor. “We’re going to keep making these important infrastructure investments in highways, recreational facilities and a new clinic, so communities can grow and thrive.”
