Hundreds of Courses Added to Open More Doors to Post-secondary Education Program, Remove Educational Barriers: Minister Allum

Post-secondary students can now access hundreds of online courses in a single location with the help of a new website called eCampus Manitoba, Education and Advanced Learning Minister James Allum announced today.

“eCampus Manitoba ensures post-secondary students across the province have access to a wide range of high-quality, online learning opportunities to put students on the right track to get the education they need to get a good job, here in Manitoba,” said Minister Allum.

The eCampus Manitoba website is a partnership between Manitoba’s seven public post-secondary organizations to provide a one-stop shop to the online learning opportunities available through their institutions.

eCampus Manitoba hosts approximately 520 unique university and college courses, and over 1,100 course equivalencies.  Students can browse through courses or search for them by category and institution.  Live advice is available through a virtual help desk.

“The University of Manitoba is pleased to be a part of the new eCampus website,” said Joanne Keselman, vice-president (academic) and provost, University of Manitoba.  “Through our Extended Education Division, we provide learners throughout Manitoba, Canada and the world with the option of taking a single degree-credit course or completing an entire degree online, no matter where they live.  The eCampus website allows us to offer even more flexibility to Manitobans.”

“We believe education should have no borders or barriers.  eCampus Manitoba is helping our province to build the skilled workforce we need to grow our economy and create strong communities for Manitoba families,” said Minister Allum.
