Province Issues Severe Wind Effect Warning for Lake Winnipeg, Moderate Wind Effect Warning for Lake Manitoba



Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation’s Hydrologic Forecasting Centre reports that forecast high winds developing today have resulted in a severe wind effect warning for the South Basin of Lake Winnipeg and a moderate warning for Lake Manitoba.

Winds are forecast to range up to 55 km/h starting later today and calming Friday afternoon.  Combined wind speed and wave action could raise levels by as much as five feet or more.

Property owners are advised to take precautions.
