Province Issues High Water Advisory for Whiteshell Lakes

The Hydrologic Forecast Centre of Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation has issued a high water advisory for Whiteshell lakes as recent rainfall and late spring run-off are combining to raise water levels.
• West Hawk Lake is at the upper end of the operating range.
• Falcon Lake is above the operating range.  Some cottages on low-lying lots may be at risk.
• Depending on future rainfall the high water may remain in place for up to a few weeks.

Spring Safety
People are reminded to:
• be watchful of local waterways as flood conditions can develop quickly and ice conditions may be unsafe;
• stay away from ice and water, and do not drive or walk through fast-moving water; and
• call 511 to check road conditions before travelling.
