Province Announces Appointments To Manitoba Centennial Centre Corporation

Eight members have been appointed to the Manitoba Centennial Centre Corporation (MCCC) board, Crown Services Minister Ron Schuler announced today.

“The MCCC is responsible for the management and ongoing operations of the Centennial Concert Hall and its related properties and services including property management services for organizations within the centennial centre,” said Schuler.  “I look forward to working with the members to ensure the Centennial Concert Hall continues to be a valuable asset for the arts and culture community, which in turn benefits all Manitobans.”

The newly appointed members of the MCCC board are Karl Loepp (chair), Kirsten S. Albo (vice-chair), Cindy Carswell, Jennifer Moncrieff, Mercedes Caron, Garry Swampy and Cameron Hay.

The MCCC board is also made up of two employee representatives, elected by members of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) and Manitoba Government and General Employees’ Union (MGEU) respectively.  David Martin, representing IATSE, has been reappointed to the board, while Edwin Cavanaugh, representing the MGEU, has retired.  That position will be filled at a later date, Schuler said.

The eight appointments have staggered term dates to ensure and maintain continuity, the minister noted.

Schuler thanked previous members Angela Mathieson, Daniel Boucher, Devon Towers, Albert Plamondon, Judy Murphy, Paul Huntington, Sandra Hardy, Rita Chahal, Edwin Cavanaugh and Jeri Kostyra for their service to the MCCC board.
