Province Advises PTH 59 North Floodway Bridge Restricted to One Lane
Manitoba Infrastructure reports the northbound lanes of the bridge over the Red River Floodway along PTH 59 north is restricted to one lane of traffic due to damage caused by an over-height vehicle on Oasis Road underneath.
Alternate routes are PTH 8, 9 and 15. Lighter vehicle traffic can also take Henderson Highway, Bird’s Hill Road and PR 206. To access PTH 59 southbound from Oasis Road, motorists should use PR 213 (Garven Road).
A detailed inspection and assessment of the damage is being conducted to determine the necessary repairs and a timeframe to reopen both lanes.
Stakeholders such as the municipality, emergency services and RCMP have been advised.
