Appointments Made to the Brandon University Board of Governors



The Manitoba government has appointed three new members and reappointed one to the Brandon University Board of Governors.

Julee Galvin (CPA, CA) is an accountant and business advisor with MNP in Virden with a focus in agriculture. She also farms with her husband in the community.

Tami-Rae Rourke is the co-founder of I-NetLink Wireless and Net-Set Communications, which she ran for 17 years. She now serves as chief operating officer of Tower Co. Canada and is president of the Brandon Chamber of Commerce. Other board experience includes the Industry Advisor Committee, Brandon Crime Stoppers, Brandon Humane Society, Big Brothers and Sisters and Habitat for Humanity.

Michelle Archibald is entering her fifth and final year of music education at Brandon University, where she studies instrumental music education for middle and high school students. She has completed two French immersion programs in Québec and is fluent in French. Her volunteer experience includes the Brandon Jazz Festival and Brandon Level One Festival and she is a chorister with Konektis in Brandon.

Grant Jackson is a third-year history major at Brandon University. His volunteer experience includes the Western Manitoba Youth Choir Board, Relay for Life and the Souris School Student Council. He has served on the board since 2017.

The Brandon University Board of Governors consists of 17 members, including two student representatives, and is responsible for appointing the president, vice-president, deans and other staff. Appointments are for up to three-year terms, except for students who have one-year terms. Board members are eligible to be re-appointed for second terms.

Minister of Education and Training Ian Wishart thanked outgoing board members for their commitment and service.
