Province Announces Appointments to the Manitoba Museum Board

The Manitoba government has appointed three new members to the Manitoba Museum board, Sport, Culture and Heritage Minister Cathy Cox announced today.
“The Manitoba Museum is a cornerstone in the preservation of our province’s rich and diverse history,” said Cox. “Thank you to the board and its new members for their commitment to enhancing education and discovery as they lead the museum in this next chapter.”
Kathryn McBurney is the director of accounts for Tripwire Media Group. She has an extensive background in account management, public relations, marketing and communications, and oversees client management at Tripwire.
Michael Radcliffe, QC, is a lawyer and former member of the legislative assembly for River Heights. He holds a bachelor of arts and bachelor of laws from the University of Manitoba and was appointed Queen’s counsel in 1993. He later served as minister of consumer and corporate affairs and minister of labour. His board experience includes a previous term for the Manitoba Museum, the Misericordia Health Centre Foundation and St. Joseph’s Long-Term Care.
Kevin Mogk is one of the Manitoba Museum’s longest-serving Science Gallery and planetarium animators. He will be appointed as a staff representative of the museum.
Cox thanked outgoing board members for their commitment and service.
The Manitoba government is proud to support the Manitoba Museum, Cox said. In May, the province announced a $1.4-million contribution to Bringing Our Stories Forward, the museum’s capital renewal project, with another $3.6 million available if private donation targets are met. The Bringing Our Stories Forward project will lead to the renewal of 42 per cent of the museum’s galleries including Grasslands, Nonsuch, Orientation and Urban, as well as the creation of a new Winnipeg Gallery.
“Our government is delighted to support Bringing Our Stories Forward. This renewal project will leave a lasting legacy for visitors to enjoy now and well into the future,” Cox said.
