Province Announces New Appointments to Red River College Board of Governors



Manitoba Education and Training has appointed two new members to the Red River College board of governors.

Susan Robinson (Winnipeg) is currently vice-president of operations for the Health Sciences Centre Foundation, where she provides leadership and direction for the operations team as well as the day-to-day management of the foundation’s home lottery programs and the finance, granting and human resources departments.  She holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University and previously served as a consultant with InterGroup Consultants.

Stu Charles (Winnipeg) retired in 2017 as the chief information officer for the Workers Compensation Board.  His board experience includes the Reh-Fit Centre, the Information and Communication Technology Association of Manitoba, the Henry G. Izatt Middle School Parent Advisory Council and the CIO Association of Canada Manitoba Chapter.

Three members have been reappointed to the board.

Board chair Loren Cisyk (Winnipeg) is currently the executive vice-president of technology soluations at Information Systems Corporation in Regina, Sask., and was previously the general manager (Prairies division) for IBM Canada Ltd.  He has more than 20 years of IBM consulting and sales management experience.  Prior to IBM, he spent nine years in information technology leadership roles at Great-West Life and gained six years of technical experience at Cargill.  He is active in the community as a member of the Red River College board of governors, Wynward Insurance board of directors and received the Distinguished Alumni Award from RRC in 2007 and FCMA in 2011.

Vice-chair Janice Hyde (Winnipeg) has more than 30 years’ experience in the information and communications technology sector with IBM Canada.  She is also a member of the charitable organization 100 Winnipeg Women Who Care and has been recognized as an Individual Difference Maker for her contributions as a volunteer and board member of the Never Alone Foundation.  Hyde has served on the Red River College Board of Governors since 2017.

Lauren Slegers (Winnipeg) has been reappointed as the student representative on the board.  She is president of the Red River College Students’ Association and a recent graduate of the business administration diploma program at Red River College, with a major in administration.  While serving her term in office, she plans to continue her studies in business, working toward a bachelor of commerce.

Manitoba Education and Training thanked outgoing members for their service to the board.
