Province Appoints New Member to Louis Riel Institute Board of Directors



Manitoba Education and Training has appointed one new member to the Louis Riel Institute board of directors.

Lea Clarke of Winnipeg is a self-employed consultant who specializes in accounting software, business management and development.  She specializes in training and support of accounting software for various levels of business and government agencies.

An active community member, Clarke serves as interim chair of St. Norbert-La Barrière Métis Council, and has served on the boards of Women’s Business Owners of Manitoba and Winnipeg Central Business Owners, and belongs to the Manitoba and Winnipeg Chambers of Commerce.  She has also been a volunteer with the Windsor Community Club, Windsor Girls Soccer, Windsor School Parent Committee, Windsor Care for Kids, St. Mary’s United Church and Grain Exchange Business Ladies Curling.

The Louis Riel Institute promotes the educational and cultural advancement of Métis people in Manitoba and helps adults returning to school achieve their educational goals through the Adult Learning Centre.  Community programming and training workshops are also available.
