Appointments Made to Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries Corporation Board

Two new members have been appointed to the Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries Corporation (MBLL) board of directors, Crown Services Minister Colleen Mayer announced today.

“The board of directors for Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries plays an important role in our province,” said Mayer.  “We are happy to appoint Manitobans who share MBLL’s dedication to supporting provincial programs and initiatives that touch everyone who lives here.”

The new MBLL board members are:

  • Randy Williams (Dugald), a former executive director for Manitoba Lotteries Corporation who oversaw the day-to-day video lottery terminal (VLT) operations and First Nations gaming.  He is also the former chair of the Manitoba Taxi Cab Board.
  • Jonathan Webber (La Salle), the chief financial officer of Sawatsky Group of Companies.  He holds a bachelor of arts from the University of Manitoba, a master of business administration from Laurentian University with certified general accountant and certified human resources professional designations.  He has served on numerous boards including Bravestone Centre, the Niakwa Country Club, the Modular Housing Association, the St. Vital Mustangs Football Club and the Dakota Community Centre.

Two reappointments were also announced:

  • Tracey Maconachie (Winnipeg), president of the Life Science Association of Manitoba, a non-profit organization dedicated to growing Manitoba’s life-science industry.  She has been a member of the Liquor and Lotteries Corporation board since 2016.
  • Mavis Taillieu (Winnipeg), a former member of the Legislative Assembly.  She was the founder and former owner/publisher of a community newspaper, and a former laboratory technologist.  She is currently vice-president of Parc Industries, a land development company in British Columbia.

The minister thanked outgoing board members for their service.
