The new MPI board members are:

  • Dr. Michael Sullivan (Portage la Prairie) will serve as board chair.  He is an accomplished dentist with the Portage Dental Association, a member of the Canadian Dental Association, Manitoba Dental Association, Winnipeg Dental Society, as well as a fellowship member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy and International College of Dentists.  He is the past president of the Manitoba Dental Association and currently serves as chair of the Manitoba Dental Association’s Economics Committee and Chair Infection Control Committee.  Nationally, he serves as the chair of the Canadian Dental Association’s Advocacy Committee, and is a member of several dental associations.  He was also recently awarded the Manitoba Dental Association’s President Award for his many accomplishments.  Sullivan is also very active in his community, having serving as past board member of the Community Foundation of Portage and District, past board member for the Portage Credit Union, board member of the Triple B Stadium Inc., vice-president for the Portage Minor Hockey Association, and committee chair for the Royal Bank Cup that was held in Portage la Prairie.  In his spare time, Sullivan also coaches several minor hockey and youth soccer teams.

These appointments are part of the Manitoba government’s effort to continue to refresh the agencies, boards, and commissions of the province, ensuring that Manitobans continue to be represented in these important positions by highly qualified and enthusiastic individuals.
