Deputy Ministers Reassigned as Part of Organizational Changes Made by Manitoba Government

Six deputy ministers have been reassigned to new departments to support structural changes made last week by the Manitoba government, Premier Brian Pallister announced today.

“We have assembled a great team of senior managers who have been highly successful, leading their departments to deliver on our commitments to Manitobans.  Our entire cabinet is grateful for their service,” Pallister said.  “Now is an opportune time to present new challenges to many of these leaders and ask them to continue to bring innovative thinking to new mandates.”

The reassigned deputy ministers and their departments are:
•    Michael Richards – deputy cabinet secretary, deputy minister of intergovernmental affairs and deputy minister of Crown services;
•    Scott Sinclair – deputy minister of central services;
•    Sarah Harrison – deputy minister of conservation and climate;
•    Jan Forster – deputy minister of economic development and training;
•    Charlene Paquin – civil service commissioner and deputy minister of sport, culture and heritage; and
•    Bruce Gray – deputy minister of municipal relations.

Deputy ministers with the same or modified portfolios include:
•    Fred Meier – clerk of the executive council and cabinet secretary;
•    Jim Hrichishen – associate clerk of the executive council and deputy minister of finance;
•    Dorynne (Dori) Gingera-Beauchemin – deputy minister of agriculture and resource development;
•    Grant Doak – deputy minister of education;
•    John Leggat – deputy minister of families;
•    Karen Herd – deputy minister of health, seniors and active living;
•    Michelle Dubik – deputy minister of Indigenous and northern relations;
•    Tareq Al-Zabet – deputy minister of infrastructure;
•    Dave Wright – deputy minister of justice and deputy attorney general; and
•    Paul Beauregard – secretary to treasury board.

The premier added that Dave Dyson has been appointed a senior advisor within Executive Council.

“I want to thank Dave for his over 36 years of service to the Manitoba government, most recently as the deputy minister of growth, economic development and trade,” said Pallister.  “This new role will ensure his leadership and expertise remain available to the Manitoba government as we move forward.”
