Third Session of the 42nd Manitoba Legislature to Open Tomorrow with Speech from the Throne



The third session of the 42nd Manitoba legislature is expected to open at approximately 1:35 p.m. tomorrow, with the reading of the speech from the throne by Lt.-Gov. Janice C. Filmon. 
 
Due to COVID-19 health guidelines, the traditional 15-gun artillery salute, inspection of the Guard of Honour and playing of the vice-regal salute will not take place.
 
The official party will proceed immediately to the lieutenant-governor’s reception room upon arrival to the building. At approximately 1:30 p.m., the official party will proceed into the Legislative Chamber and the lieutenant-governor is scheduled to commence the reading the speech from the throne at approximately 1:35 p.m.
 
The speech will outline the government’s main priorities for the following legislative session and will be streamed live at https://news.gov.mb.ca and https://www.manitoba.ca/thronespeech
