COVID-19 Vaccine Bulletin #5
All of the 1,300 COVID-19 immunization appointments for this week have been booked by eligible health-care providers.
Yesterday, 298 eligible health-care workers were immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine. Since Dec. 16, a total of 1,192 people have been immunized. No adverse effects following immunization have been reported in Manitoba to date.
The next immunization clinic will take place at University of Manitoba’s Rady Faculty of Health Sciences on the Bannatyne campus, on Tuesday, Dec. 29 and Wednesday, Dec. 30. The phone line will reopen to eligible health-care workers at 6 a.m. tomorrow and close at 8 p.m. daily until all spaces are filled.
Eligibility criteria are unchanged and include health-care workers whose work involves direct contact with patients and meet at least one of the following criteria:
• work in critical care units, born on or before Dec. 31, 1980;
• work in long-term care facilities, born on or before Dec. 31, 1962;
• work in acute care facilities, born on or before Dec. 31, 1960; or
• be assigned to COVID-19 immunization clinics.
Anyone who has an immunization appointment booked tomorrow and does not expect to be able to attend due to weather or road conditions can also call when the phone line reopens to cancel or reschedule their appointment.
The province will provide an update to Manitobans on the next phases of the COVID-19 immunization campaign, including upcoming clinic dates and eligibility criteria, later this week.
