Province Approves More Than $1.5 Million in New Safe at Home Manitoba Grants

More than 160 projects totalling $2.7 million have been approved through the Safe at Home Manitoba grant, a new program that encourages Manitobans to enjoy creative cultural, artistic and fitness activities in the safety of their own homes, Sport, Culture and Heritage Minister Cathy Cox announced today.

“The Safe at Home Manitoba program has made it easier for families to enjoy a number of holiday activities from the safety of their own home,” said Cox. “The health and well-being of Manitobans remains our first priority, so programming led by many of Manitoba’s diverse artists and cultural organizations will continue to run throughout the winter to help us stay busy safely from our homes.”

The Safe at Home Manitoba grant provides $3 million to a wide variety of Manitoba organizations and individuals who are able to produce free programming such as streaming of the performing arts, cooking-at-home classes, at-home fitness programs and home-based art programs for children. The application deadline for Safe at Home Manitoba projects is tomorrow.
