COVID-19 Enforcement Update

– – –
Provincial Update on Weekend Rallies

The Manitoba government continues to take strong action to protect Manitobans and advises that personnel empowered to enforce public health orders were present at rallies in Winnipeg and Winkler this past weekend and collected video evidence in support of ticketing for non-compliance with public health orders.

Officials advise the choice to defy public health orders is a serious offence and violators will be held to account. Investigations continue for all events and charges are expected. Further details will be included in tomorrow’s regular enforcement bulletin.

Manitoba Justice officials continue to followup and investigate the rally at The Forks on April 25 and advise a total of 20 $1,296 tickets have been issued thus far. This event remains under investigation and additional charges are expected.

Manitobans are urged to continue reporting compliance and enforcement issues by visiting www.manitoba.ca/COVID19 and completing the reporting form, or by calling 204-945-3744 or (toll-free) 1-866-626-4862 and pressing option three on the call menu.

The Manitoba government is taking strong action to protect Manitobans and ensure timely access to care. Current orders under the Public Health Act are available at https://manitoba.ca/asset_library/en/proactive/20212022/orders-soe-04272021.pdf.
