Remembrance Day Message From Premier Heather Stefanson

COVID-19 remains the most significant challenge of our time, and while many Manitobans have given up some of their freedoms in order to protect themselves and their loved ones from the impacts of the pandemic, nothing compares to the bravery and ultimate sacrifice made by thousands of men and women in uniform in the pursuit for peace and defence of democracy.

Our veterans have shaped our province, country and the world for the better. It is because of their service and sacrifice that we enjoy the freedoms and prosperity we have today.

I encourage all Manitobans to join in the beautiful unifying tradition of honouring our veterans and active military personnel by observing the minute of silence at the 11th hour today and show their gratitude by wearing a poppy.

On behalf of all Manitobans, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our military personnel who have served and continue to serve our country, and for their commitment to a safer world and bright future for all.

Thank you for your service.

Lest we forget.
