Manitoba Government Announces Final Intake of Community Celebrations Grants

Funding Applications Due June 15: Khan

Manitoba community groups and organizations are invited to apply to the new intake of the Manitoba government’s Community Celebrations program of the Arts, Culture and Sport in Community (ACSC) Fund, Sport, Culture and Heritage Minister Obby Khan announced today.

“Community-based events offer Manitobans exciting opportunities to come together to and enjoy quality programming and facilities among family and neighbours,” said Khan. “Our government is proud to support community organizations through the Arts, Culture and Sport in Community Fund so that more Manitobans can access quality programming and facilities close to home.”

In March, the Manitoba government awarded $323,000 through the Community Celebrations program of the ACSC Fund to 67 community events. Grant applications were evaluated based on project goals and eligibility, feasibility and community impact.

The $100-million ACSC Fund was established in August 2022 to support arts, culture (heritage, public libraries and ethnocultural organizations) and amateur sport.

Funding is distributed through three programs:

  • large capital projects,
  • small capital projects and special initiatives, and
  • community celebrations.

Applications for the Community Celebrations program are open until June 15 and the minister noted this latest round of applications will be the final intake for the Community Celebrations program.
