Statement from Premier Wab Kinew on Remembrance Day

Today, Nov. 11, our government joins Manitobans to honour and remember the brave service people and veterans who have served our great country. We commit to them that we will never forget their sacrifice.

We are indebted to veterans and those who serve today – it is their service that has allowed each and every Manitoban to live in a safe province and participate in our strong democracy.

I encourage all Manitobans to wear a poppy and pause for a moment of silence to pay tribute to those who have protected the freedoms we enjoy today.

Together, we take this day to reflect on their sacrifice and on what we must do to support those who come home after times of conflict. Our government commits to offering respect, dignity and high-quality care to veterans who call Manitoba home.

On behalf of all Manitobans, I extend profound thanks to service people, their families and loved ones for the hard work and deep sacrifice they have made for the people of our province.

Lest we forget.
