Manitoba Government Invites Applications for Manitoba Settlement Support Services Program

Funding Supports Projects that Help Newcomers in Manitoba: Marcelino

The Manitoba government is now accepting applications for the Newcomer Community Integration Support program under Manitoba Settlement Support Services (MSSS), which provides financial support to projects that help newcomers establish strong roots and connections in Manitoba, Labour and Immigration Minister Malaya Marcelino announced today.

“Settlement services play a key role in welcoming newcomers to Manitoba,” said Marcelino. “Our government is proud to support programs that help newcomers integrate socially, culturally and economically, ensuring they feel at home and can thrive right here in Manitoba.”

Applications will be evaluated based on the organization’s proven strengths, ability to holistically address multi-faceted needs of newcomers, connection with the existing settlement service network, and ability to improve inter-organizational co-operation and innovation in addressing the needs of newcomers.

Funded projects will aim to complement the existing settlement service network and support Manitoba’s eligible clients who are often ineligible for federally funded settlement and integration services, the minister noted.
